Attention residents of the City of Ocean Springs: Beginning with the February 2024 bill, the fees paid for garbage, recycling, and rubbish services will increase by $11.50 per month per residential and commercial account. This is due to the City’s current contract expiring requiring an updated contract for said services. This equals a 57.50% garbage fee increase per customer and City revenue in the first year with an approximate 3% increase per year. The resulting increase in the City’s garbage revenue for these services will offset the additional expenditure. This will be a 6-year contract with Waste Pro and each upcoming fiscal year will include a $1.00 a month increase equaling a $12.00 a year increase. - FY2024 $31.50 per month per account
- FY2025 $32.50 per month per account
- FY2026 $33.50 per month per account
- FY2027 $34.50 per month per account
- FY2028 $35.50 per month per account
- FY2029 $36.50 per month per account
This increase is due to a significant increase in contractual services, operating costs, and Waste Pro’s additional costs from inflation and rising costs of labor and services. The City collects the funds for Waste Pro. Waste Pro can be contacted at 228-818-5393.
