The Vision of Pine Drive

The City of Ocean Springs is excited to release the vision for the city-owned property of Pine Drive. The conceptual design of the 12-acres includes:

  • A walking trail
  • Playground
  • Multi-purpose sports fields (that can serve baseball, softball and soccer, kickball, flag football),
  • The Ryan Center – 15,000 square foot building will accommodate 2 basketball courts, community meeting spaces, voting precinct & pickleball courts
  • 4 outdoor pickleball courts
  • Pavilions for outdoor gatherings
  • Open green space for events
  • Small utility yard to service the existing water tower

On March 9, the City of Ocean Springs along with MDEQ, Senator Brice Wiggins, Representative Hank Zuber, and the YMCA hosted a community meeting to discuss the environmental challenges on the Leica Property. Senator Wiggins guided the discussion so residents had an opportunity to ask their questions. 

MDEQ led the discussion with a presentation and passed out a brief fact sheet
