City of Ocean Springs Trademark Policy

The City of Ocean Springs logo is a Registered Service Mark (®) with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is the exclusive property of the City of Ocean Springs. Registration was obtained to protect the city's brand and its integrity.

The stylized logo, used on city publications and property, represents a sun made from a compass that captures the waves in the ocean along a horizon line, along the words "The City of Discovery" above the logo, the words "Ocean Springs" and "Mississippi."

Although the words "City of Discovery, Ocean Springs, and Mississippi" appear in the logo, the city does not claim the exclusive right to use "City of Discovery, Ocean Springs, and Mississippi" apart from the logo as shown.

Unauthorized use of the City of Ocean Springs logo is an infringement and is punishable under 18 USC. § 2319. The City of Ocean Springs logo may only be included in/on all official City of Ocean Springs correspondence, marketing, and property. Unauthorized use of the logo (all or in part) may cause confusion, mistake, or deception about the user's affiliation or connection with the City of Ocean Springs and is strictly prohibited.
